It has been over 5 weeks and I am still in New Zealand having the time of my life… Everyday is pretty much the same, they all consist of snowboarding. I know that since I have been here my riding has progressed excessively! I am now going bigger than I ever have consistently and all my trick are looking better because they are now bigger. I still have 10 days left and heaps more riding so we will see what I accomplish. Sweet As mate….
New Zealand… I am so pumped to be here and riding since my surgery. I ended up competing in the New Zealand Open and getting 10th. I kept it mellow during my runs with just back 5 to alley opp back 5 and ended up in the semis. During semis I added a cab 7 and placed 10th in semis only two out from finals.
Now I am just training till September 27, I am so stoked to be back on SNOW!
Today I leave for New Zealand for two months!! I am so pumped to be back on snow.
Today was the day I did my back to snow test for the second time… I PASSED!!! My knee is all good for snowboarding in New Zealand.
I leave on August 8 and won’t be back till September 20. The first 2 weeks I am there I will only be able to cruz groomers just to get my feet back under me. I am really looking forward to being back in the PIPE!
It has been a little over 5 weeks since my surgery and I am now just waiting till the day Jess (physical therapist) at the COE give me the okay.
Last week I took my first, “back to snow test” hoping that I was ready to ride at Hood this week… I was mistaken! When taking the test I realized that my knee was not as strong as I thought. So long story short I started doing PT 5 days a week so I will be ready to ride in New Zealand in the beginning of August. Next Friday I will be taking a second, “back to snow test” again, hoping that this time I am ready.
Tonight two of my roommates and I are sending it to The Half Blood Prince at 3 a.m…. It’s gonna be epic, but hard to stay awake!
I just want to let everyone know how EPIC Cottonwood Heights pool is! There are plat forms, diving boards, slides, and lots of people watching. If your ever in Utah I suggest you check it out…
P.S. people send it off the plat forms.
So tomorrow 2 of my roommates (Casey (Scruffers) and Hannah) and I are taking a road trip. We are sending it to Wisconsin from Salt Lake City. We are going to visit some of our good friends there and go sailing, boating, maybe Summer Fest, and what ever else we find along the way… It is my very first road trip that doesn’t involve snowboarding and I am super excited!
Our drive to Wisconsin that was supposed to be 20 hours ended up being 26 hours because we decide to see Missouri, not by choice… wrong turn.
Finally we made it to Millwakee, Wisconsin and then the fun began…
After two days of Wisconsin it was time to pack the Mini and drive home…
On tuesday I walk in to the Heber Valley Medical Clinic for my third meniscus surgery…
Tuesday was the day of the surgery and if I could tell you all about it I would, but honestly I think I was a little loopy. I can tell you that my dad came down for the surgery and it was so fun to see him!
Dr. Cooley did my meniscus surgery. I had torn my meniscus in Mammoth. Cooley just went in and trimmed it up. Now my recovery is starting and I am gimping around with my ballin cane…
I will be back on snow in August and I can’t wait! I should be in Hood shredding right now.
So tomorrow is the day I am going under the knife for the third time in my life… Its ironic that all my surgeries were on my right knee and the meniscus. Hopefully the stories are true and THIRD TIMES A CHARM!
